ABSTRACT: This study Assessed the Benefits of Early Childhood Education in Disaster Preparedness. The objectives of this study were to: (1) evaluate the effectiveness of early childhood education (ECE) programs in teaching disaster preparedness, (2) assess the impact of preparedness activities on children's understanding of safety protocols, and (3) determine the long-term benefits of disaster preparedness education on community resilience. A survey design was chosen to collect detailed data from educators, parents, and children about their experiences with disaster preparedness in ECE settings. A sample size of 160 participants, including preschool teachers, parents, and children aged 4-6, was selected using purposive sampling. The case study was conducted in early childhood education centers in Delta State, Nigeria, given its history of natural disasters and focus on preparedness education. Findings indicated that ECE programs significantly improved children's understanding of safety protocols and contributed to community resilience. It was recommended that early childhood education centers integrate disaster preparedness into their curricula and provide training for educators to effectively teach these concepts.
